We are an independent and politically neutral organization that serves the promotion of human rights and understanding among nations only; however, we also love our own country and want it to move forward.
The law cannot automatically be on the side of those who are loudest. In our wonderful country, we have to preserve the democracy and reforms that are under threat on a daily basis. We can see the effects of the global financial and economic crisis in this country: local authorities are becoming more and more like beggars and can no longer solve regional problems. Schools are being neglected. Poor education and poverty among the elderly are becoming the norm. Germany could become less attractive as a place to set up business. Quo vadis, Germany? In areas where politics appear to be a science, we see it as our duty to ask questions about the living organism. Our country is full of good people who know how to get the best out of themselves and out of the community. That's what we work on and we're happy to counteract the domestic reform deadlock by adding urgency to the development of the European network of medium-sized companies. We coordinate these activities with the European Parliament.
With regard to foreign policy, it is regrettable that Germany recently wanted to recognize the Egyptian Islamist Mohammed Mursi as a democratically legitimized leader. We consider Islamification to be undemocratic and understand this support to be counterproductive as we move along the road towards universal respect for human rights. It should be noted once again that 90% of all girls in Egypt suffer female genital mutilation (FGM). 4% of them die as a result of this dreadful physical assault, and this is just one example. The acceptance of this cultural "practice" has led to the unbearable situation that it produces victims on a daily basis, yet not a single offender. We will not tire in our determination to question this infamous and widespread offense. The countries that are affected may well be far away, the subject, however, is very close to home and indifference is not an option. Parents must understand the preciousness of the female child. She is not an object, she is a human being that needs nurturing, full of self-sufficiency. Education can motivate change and foster the healing power of self control; and this is what we want to find and propagate. The removal of Mohammed Mursi prevented the law against "female circumcision" being repealed. The rights of women and their implementation belong to our common duty. The support of foreign policy priorities is a key subject area for our organization internationally.
Our diplomatic intention is to make it easier for alleged enemies to leave their old ways behind and replace the destructive elements of their actions because we don't want them in our world. Measures for de-escalation, human rights, development aid and health are our area of responsibility with regard to the UN.
We and a number of renowned experts show that we need and must bring about change. That's what we stand for.
