Cooperation with the University of Cologne
The University of Cologne and the Istanbul Kemerburgaz University have agreed to run a joint graduate Law program. According to the agreement which was signed at the University of Cologne, the students will complete the first four semesters over two years at the Law School at the University of Cologne and will spend the final two years studying at the Kemerburgaz University in Istanbul. The binational university course which is at the moment unique in Germany, leads to both a Turkish and German degree in Law.
The President and Rector has managed to establish the KEMERBURGAZ University in the relatively short period of 3 years.
Not all of the applications received from students for a place at this modern and Europe-oriented university were successful. However, the university will be significantly expanded by 2015. At the moment, there are places for 3000 students on a number of interesting courses in an excellent environment.
The academics who are being educated here are endeavoring to establish strong links with Europe and build a modern Turkey.
The University Committee also has some commendable members who are helping to build a path towards international understanding and education.
