Reception of DMW Diplomaten International 2024

We succeeded in honoring Senator Serkan Bayram – member of the Turkish National Council – with the Peace Prize for Humanity. All political currents and parties – even the opposition – in Turkey considered this award very worthy and sent numerous congratulations, proving that this event found great international interest. In his acceptance speech, Senator Bayram specifically pointed to the hardships faced by people with disabilities and outlined ways in which disadvantages could still lead to success. He suggested convening a ministry specifically dedicated to this topic.

Another key focus was specifically the use of singing as a tool of diplomacy. It was demonstrated that through this, a higher degree of acceptance can be achieved among peoples and individuals to bring difficulties to attention. We demonstrated how melodious singing reaches people at their core and can open entirely different feelings. Ms. Miriam Geiger as a singer presented qualitative and compelling vocal performances, which the audience experienced as the highest element of the address. We will further develop this psychological methodology and propose it for difficult negotiations, as Asian and South American countries have long practiced.

Equally captivating was the lecture by Ambassador and State Councilor (ret.) Prof. Volker Schlegel, who convinced the attending guests through his background knowledge. He was able to clear up misunderstandings in society and explain current global contexts.

President Prof. Günther Meinel led through the program and explained the difficulties as well as special characteristics of diplomacy, while Vice President Magister Halil Sert introduced the role of people with disabilities in society.

Further high-ranking diplomatic representatives from other countries contributed speeches, highlighting the particularities of their countries and discussing the potentials of diplomacy. Through the event, the togetherness of the members, partners, and friends of the organization Diplomaten International was once again confirmed in full success.
