We were tasked with carrying out the EU expansion, and with that, we wanted to develop as well as the USA! In Lisbon, we decided that we should become the largest economic area in the world: A Europe of the people and by the people – meaning a common economic system, financial system, education system, etc. The ambition excited us; we felt united as Europeans and lived as such with passion! Unfortunately, what started as good intentions turned into a Europe of bureaucrats and the independence of individual countries. There is not much left of the unity, except for a common internal market, which we still highly value! Yet, we still feel responsible for creating a better life for people. One way to do this was by introducing our ideas at the UN, where we have been very successful! We don’t just talk, we act!
Therefore, we continuously participate in high-level UN meetings. We have presented many proposals to ensure a better coexistence of people! Now, on October 16, 2024, another milestone was achieved. During the meeting of delegates from all world parliaments, some of whom presented very aggressively, we were able to bring forward a proposal to the UN General Secretary, Mr. Martin Chungong, to not only have a lobby for children, poor people, etc., but also to form a working group for people with disabilities! This was warmly welcomed, so this working group now has its seat in Istanbul for the world!
This is a great step for humanity in its quest for equality! Particularly, Vice President Halil Sert and our board member Senator Serkan Bayram represented us in Parliament! The President thanked them on behalf of all peace-loving people and expressed his recognition! Once again, this shows us that our organization is needed and appreciated and must continue to work across borders! A special thanks goes to the many supporting members in all countries!
